For Pleasure, hailed as the "Horse of the Century," is renowned for his suppleness, scope, and exceptional temperament, traits consistently passed on to his foals. Retired at 20 after a successful career, including winning his final class (Leipzig World Cup qualifier), he remained sound until a tendon injury at 19. His semen is of excellent quality, producing high conception rates.

Performance:
For Pleasure had an outstanding international career, earning over €1.8 million. Highlights include:

  • Four team gold medals for Germany (two Olympics: Atlanta 1996 & Sydney 2000, finishing 4th individually; two European Championships: Hickstead 1999 – 5th individually, Donaueschingen 2003 – individual bronze for Marcus Ehning).

For Pleasure is by Furioso II, a son of the influential Thoroughbred Furioso xx. Furioso II’s lineage has produced numerous top international showjumpers and influential sires, including Mexico and Le Mexico. Lutteur B, a descendant, won Olympic individual gold in 1964.

Damline:
For Pleasure’s dam, Gigantin (by Grannus out of a mare by Goya), carries the highly prized Hanoverian “G” blood. The damline has produced multiple licensed stallions, often line-bred to For Pleasure himself.

Progeny:
For Pleasure has sired over 90 grand prix jumpers and 18 licensed stallions, with 124 sons approved by various studbooks. Notable offspring include Flora De Mariposa, Derly Chin De Muze, Fit For Fun, Firth Of Lorne, Forsyth, For Sale 6, Another Pleasure, Hello Forever, and Epleaser van’t Heike.
