Winningmood

Winningmood is a distinguished Belgian Warmblood stallion who combined elite sport performance with exceptional bloodlines. Foaled in 1999, the grey stallion represents a powerful blend of proven European jumping genetics and modern sport horse refinement, making him an influential sire within international show jumping breeding programs.

Bred in Belgium by Harrie Theeuwes, Winningmood is a direct son of the legendary stallion Darco, one of the most important sires in modern show jumping history. Darco was renowned for producing horses with tremendous scope, power, and durability at the highest levels of the sport. Through his sire line, Winningmood also traces back to Lugano van La Roche, another cornerstone of Belgian Warmblood breeding known for transmitting strength and athleticism.

On the dam side, Winningmood carries the influential Holsteiner stallion Cassini I, a son of the legendary Capitol I. This maternal line adds carefulness, technique, and elasticity to the pedigree, complementing the raw power of the Darco line. The dam, M. Unellie 15, comes from a strong KWPN mare family known for producing consistent sport horses, blending Holsteiner and Dutch performance genetics.

Standing approximately 1.67 meters (about 16.2 hands), Winningmood developed into a top-level international show jumper. Competing up to the 1.60-meter level, he achieved success with several riders, most notably Brazilian Olympic rider Luciana Diniz. Throughout his career he competed at major FEI competitions and championships, demonstrating scope, carefulness, and reliability at the highest level of the sport.

Beyond his own competitive career, Winningmood has proven valuable as a sire. His offspring have competed successfully in international sport, with several reaching Grand Prix level and others performing in the 1.45–1.60 m divisions. His progeny are typically recognized for their rideability, athleticism, and strong jumping technique—traits that reflect the powerful Darco influence combined with the precision and quality of the Cassini bloodline.

Today, Winningmood is regarded as an important representative of modern Belgian Warmblood breeding—uniting some of the most influential jumping lines in Europe while contributing both performance and proven genetics to the next generation of sport horses.
