Zinedine
About:
Zinedine combines world-class genetics, athleticism, and temperament, making him equally valuable as a sport horse and sire. Known for his lightning reflexes, exceptional scope, and careful jumping technique, he embodies the modern show jumper.
Performance:
Zinedine made an outstanding impression early in his career, placing seventh in his World Cup debut at the Stuttgart German Masters as an eight-year-old. With Ludger Beerbaum, he won youngster tours in Rotterdam, Aachen, Münster, and Paderborn, and went on to achieve top placings in major Grand Prix events—including second in the GCT London GP, fourth in Chantilly, and fifth in Shanghai—cementing his international reputation.
Sire:
His sire, Guidam (by Quidam de Revel), was an internationally successful jumper and one of the most influential sires of his generation, producing championship horses such as Ninja la Silla and Authentic. Guidam was named KWPN Stallion of the Year in 1996 and holds the title of keur.
Damline:
Zinedine’s dam, Unadonja, competed up to 1.45m under Shane Sweetnam. Her sire, Heartbreaker, is a legendary name in show jumping, both in competition and breeding. A son of Nimmerdor, Heartbreaker produced numerous top stallions including Toulon, Romano, Action-Breaker, and Quasimodo vd Molendreef—the sire of Hello Sanctos.
Progeny:
Zinedine’s offspring are already making an impact. His first crop arrived in 2014, with Zinedream winning the Oldenburg licensing in 2016 and selling for €215,000. His foals are known for their power, elasticity, and excellent temperaments. Among his rising stars is Zineday (ridden by Philipp Weishaupt), who competed at the 2021 World Championships in Lanaken and won the 1.55m Frankfurter Festhalle Grand Prix in 2022.
